Cat of the Day - November 16, 1998

This is Tigi, a fine striper who was born at a dairy farm in New Hampshire. Now, having lots of milk every day was great, but there were so many cats there, that Tigi just didn't get much TLC. So, I imagine that is why this scared, hungry, little cat kept showing up on our back porch with a look so forlorn he just had to get adopted. And it worked. It took a few months of feeding him every day for him to trust us, but on a cold Thanksgiving Day, either the smell of turkey from the oven or his new "Dad's" warm arms won him over, and he hasn't stepped a paw outside on his own since.

Being warm, fed, petted and combed were welcome surprises to this almost "wild" cat. Of all our furry friends we have adopted over the years, our sweet Tigi is by far the most grateful! He literally smiles 24 hours a day. After a year or so he did stop eating everything in sight - I guess he finally figured we really were going to feed him every day after all!

 



 

Tigi is not dynamic, he rarely speaks (unless dinner is late) or gets into trouble, but he is very special and he really, really loves us!
