Bobbie Arnold Wells Still married to the same man for 38 years now. Even though he has retired, we are still married. My only respite is that I get away five days a week so he can do whatever he wants. He has pretty much narrowed it down to playing his flute, shooting handguns, spending time with his English bulldog Jasper and thinking about doing repair jobs around the house. Oh, yes, he says he rides his bicycle, too. We bought some additional ground and a bank barn out behind our house so hopefully this spring he can spend some time out there trying to figure out what to repair next, the only thing is those repairs always end up costing money. Our oldest son Vincent plans to use the barn to store equipment he uses in his business. Hopefully he might do some work too. Our second son Tony is trying his hand at selling. I bet it’s a real hoot to see him in action. He has been doing some traveling. Our youngest son, Sean, still works for Vincent, which is not an ideal situation, but that’s what he does. Good ole brotherly love. Justine has one more semester at Purdue and then it is back in the U.S. Air Force, God only knows where. Her degree will be in business/finance/accounting, and I have no idea where that might take her. She has been doing her dream list but there are no guarantees. She talked about going to law school, but right now I think she is just a little tired of school in general. I am still at The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne. Which reminds me, the picture in our yearbook shows the stairway of The Journal Gazette and I come up those stairs every day. |

Ron Bennett I have been married to Beth Briles (graduated Montpelier High School) for 38 years. We built a home on State Road 18 west of Roll. We have two children, Rhonda and Ryan. Rhonda is married had has two boys - Mitchell, age thirteen, and Micah, age eleven. Rhonda and her family reside in Hartford City. Ryan is unmarried and lives in Naples, Florida. I spent four years in the Air Force (1961-1965). I returned to Hartford City and for the past thirty-five years I have worked for a fastener company in Montpelier. I have been a supervisor for the past thirty years. Beth is a hair stylist and has her own salon in Gas City. I never realized there was so much money in "vanity!" Anyway, I plan on working for a couple more years, and then hope to go south towards Naples to let our son support us for a while - seems only fair! |

Bob and JoAnn Bridge Bob and JoAnn currently live in Mexico, IN, where Bob teaches social studies at North Miami School. JoAnn taught for a number of years and is now a substitute teacher in Mexico. Their daughter, Betsy, (whom they both adore) is 21 and will be a senior at Butler next year. She is majoring in political science and has a double minor in business and German. Bob taught and coached in Hartford City for 10 years after college (South Adams). He was also head football and track coach in Geneva, Indiana. They moved to Mexico 16 years ago, where Bob was once again head football coach – they won the 1-A state championship in 1993. JoAnn’s father passed away 12 years ago, but her lovely mother (now age 86) is still in her home in H.C.

Kay Brose Rogers In a recent letter, Kay sent the photos below and had the following to say (I don't think she'll mind if I share): As far as a bio on me - what's to say??? I'm retired from teaching and loving it. The picture with Daddy was taken in Michigan City when we were all there for sister Joe's daughter's wedding. It was a wonderful family time. Our son, John, from Orlando, FL, was with us, and our daughter, Lisa with her husband, John, and our grandson, Alan, from Laurel, MD were all with us too. Late breaking family news - Lisa is expecting again - a girl this time, who will be named Maggie Kay (bet she's a live wire!). Sister Linda has taken a job in Omaha, Nebraska. She just moved out last week. Sadly, Daddy had a bad fall and broke his hip. He's had surgery and is now into rehab in Upland. He is 94 and its not an easy thing to see him in such pain. Of course, he is such a dear, and all the nurses and therapists love him. Carolyn and I are doing our best to keep his spirits up. Carolyn, by the way, is doing well - her cancer is in remission and we pray she stays healthy. I am hoping the reunion is a success and lots of us attend. Love, Kay Note: Sadly, Paul Brose passed away on Monday, October 28, 2002...our deepest sympathy goes to Kay, Carolyn, Linda, Jo and their families...we all loved Paul.

Floyd Cline, Jr. Click here for New photos of their "baby" Brinkley Suzanne and I are both retired from the education game - me from elementary administration and Suzanne from teaching. We really loved our thirty some years in education, but we were ready to do a little traveling and some serous playing with our three delightful grandchildren, Bailey, Miranda and Myles. We both still enjoy Indiana during the spring and summer months, but we retreat to our Florida home during the winter months to avoid the ice and snow. The only downside to the time in Florida is missing our son Jeff and his wife Rene, our daughter, Juli, and those precious grandchildren. We fell tremendously blessed and are enjoying retirement.

Ron Cole Married Dixie Main from Eaton in 1963. Ron attended Bible College in St. Paul, MN, graduating in 1967. Took a small church in Marinette, WI, where they remained for 3 years. Accepted an assistant pastor position in Madison, WI, where their two boys were born. They spent 13 years in Sterling Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula. While there, their church burned and they not only rebuilt a $250,000 church without ever borrowing a dollar, but Ron was also involved in establishing a volunteer fire department where they did everything – fire, rescue, search and rescue, emergency medicine, air medics, etc. He resigned in 1990 and Ron and Dixie moved to Grand Rapids, MI, then back to Hartford City seven years ago. Ron’s father had died and his mother needed some help, so Ron and Dixie moved back into the house Ron grew up in. He has retired from full-time ministry and is now working for McCammon Trucking in H.C., something he always wanted to do. They have one son and two grandsons who moved back to Alaska and their other son recently graduated from West Mich now lives in Grand Rapids where he is employed by Blackmer Corp.

Larry Cunningham It always takes me a while to catch up, and this electronic stuff will probably fail me or me it. Anyway, I have some recent pictures of my clan I will share, but don't know if I can do it. My experts are away from home, one a marine in the Middle East and the other in college in Rhode Island. There are two others, one's married and the youngest is playing football in high school. I’m still driving planes around. I spend way too much time in and out of Chicago, before that it was New York and before that Boston. I'm working for United and will for as long as they hold together or I turn 60 (August) whichever comes first. Laura, the love of my life, is still putting up with me and I guess I'll stay married as long as she wants me to be. We’ve lived in NH since the mid 70's. She and all the kids talk funny, and they just humor me. For those of you who remember my parents, attached is a photo of me and Art. He made it to almost 90 (note he is still giving me $). Maud however died of cancer in 1987. My brother Frank is still in Toronto Canada with the university, and Candy, 7 years our junior, lives in Indy with husband #2 and daughter.

Henri (Hank) Evans
When I left HCHS, I was just hoping to make it to college...I had no clue what I wanted to be when I grew up, I just knew that I did not want to wash cars for a living, although I still enjoy cleaning my cars...and I have a few. I graduated from Purdue on time in 1964, much to the amazement of just about everyone, including me...I still had no clue. While at Purdue I was in the Band, and that has turned out to be a real anchor for me as I have stayed very close to the program and I marched with the Band at the Rose Bowl in 2001, having missed the trip in 1965, I figured they would go again, yeah, right...34 years later. I spent the first 5 years after Purdue teaching and coaching high school in New Jersey and Indiana...also gave Graduate school a shot, but did not finish. Still had no clue what I wanted to do, but knew that teaching, while rewarding emotionally, was a disaster financially...I moved on to the Automobile Industry...first at Buick Motor Division and then as a dealer in California.
They say timing is everything...my auto career came to an end in about 1974-75 as the industry collapsed along with my life savings, such as it was. I limped back to Indiana and considered teaching again ...at least that was safe, right? The next 5-6 years are a little blurry, because I moved and changed jobs a bunch. In that time, I worked for a very large Travel company (St. Louis) and traveled just about everywhere... China and Russia included, some really nice places as well. Revlon, the cosmetic company (Chicago, DETROIT and back to Chicago)...I had 35 young women working for me...all between the ages of 21 and 26...for those of you who know me well, this was a real challenge...me and a bunch of really pretty women...out of college, that I recruited and trained...Oh, Boy. That I survived this at all is a minor miracle. It drove me to drink, so to speak...I went to work in the Adult Beverage Industry...First for the Bacardi, then Heublein, and finally, Schieffelin and Somerset in New York....It took me almost 20 years to move right back to NJ and commuting 2 hours and 10 minutes one way into the City. I handled the National Accounts, such as Airlines and Hotels and National Resturant Chains. I did this for 13 years...I really liked the interface with the customers and I traveled a ton...Like round trips between NY and LA on the same day. Calling on the airlines took me to the far corners of the earth and that was always interesting. I've seen it all, or at least most of it. I left S&S in 1997 and bought the Houlihan's Restaurant Group, which I ran for a few years and finally retired in 2000, sort of. I'm now consulting and doing Performance Improvement workshops and I finally realized,,,Teaching and the classroom is where I belong...It only took me 42 years to get it right and figure out what I wanted to be, but better late than never. Along the way, I've been married 3 times...the last one took...18 years this April...No kids, just never felt I wanted the responsibility of someone else's life on me...Hell, I couldn't get it figured out ...how do I guide somebody else? So what do I do now? Play golf, collect cars..Buicks, no surprise. I like boats and I've had a few. I run some as well and still play basketball, and I'm no better than I was in the NOON League in 1959! Vicki, my wife works for a medical company and I have no clue what she does or how she does it...just to complicated, but she likes it and it keeps her busy and I don't bother her too much; which is good, because I also figured out that I'm best in small doses....My two former wives would, I'm sure back me up on that one. Life is a nice pace here in Jacksonville and anyone is welcome to visit...we have a lot of room and you can always get your car washed...I still like to do that. Here are the totals: Lived in 17 states, 15 jobs, I think...3 wives, two cats and more fun than I deserved. Toni Griffey James It was really great reading all of the bios of everyone. I particularly enjoyed seeing the old class pictures along with more recent ones. I could not believe just how many people I had not thought of for all of these years. I fortunately for all concerned do not have a recent picture or at least one that I would be willing to submit. I thought the old graduation picture was dead and buried but thanks to Bari it “lives on”…I was one of those kids who thought it would be great to have enough credits to leave school in January. Once gone it was really difficult to come back even for graduation ceremonies. So now I realize that I missed out on a lot of friendships and reunions. But I still remember Gary Winder calling me “little miss no boobs”. Funny the things that we remember!!! That I had a crush on Bill Cronin (thank God he never knew) and the fun we had at the Doghouse during lunch. Ahhh those were indeed the days…. I married in March 1960 at the ripe old age of 18 and moved to the big town of Upland where my son Jeff was born in November 1961. By 1965 I was single again and moved to Wabash and began working for the City of Wabash as the Manager of the Collection office for the Sanitation Department. It was my first peek into the world of politics and a close up view of the “good old boy system” hard at work. After 3 years in this position, I obtained a bookkeeping position in ‘74 at a newly built nursing home in Wabash. I obtained a Health Facility Administrators license after which I was transferred to Lafayette for about year. I was transferred again to Indianapolis where I have lived since 1977. Little did I know I would spend the rest of my working days in the long- term care industry. I spent the first 10 years “cleaning” up facilities that no one else wanted to touch. Not as noble as it sounds, because if it is really bad then it is awfully difficult to do much more wrong. My son Jeff who is now 40! is a graduate of Purdue with an MBA from SMU, living in Fort Worth since 1985. My grandson Christopher is 8 and for those of you who remember my sister, Sheri, (still living in HC) - she has a daughter, Shelly, here in Indy. Shelly has triplet girls who are also 8. I have had the pleasure of being a very large part of the girls’ lives as they have brought me unforgettable moments of great joy. My parents still live in Hartford City and are in excellent health at 80. I still have the Chick and the Bennett cousins in Hartford City and since we all grew up together in an Italian family; they are more like siblings than cousins. My hobbies over the years have been numerous. I am an avid reader, have been a health food nut since the early 1980’s (haven’t tasted a hamburger for over 20 years), a determined explorer of alternative medicines and Eastern culture. I love to design perennial flower gardens, have made extensive trips to Europe, falling in love with France and studying the language for the last 10 years. I still enjoy cooking and entertaining, I study the computer and my talking cell phone as time permits and try to keep my mind as stimulated as possible. Yes… I have been married more than once! But now I live with two big Ragdoll cats. With the 4 eight year olds in my life, my family, my friends and my cats, I am “finally” a happy, healthy, contented 60 year old. I’m looking forward to my golden years in hopefully good health and a lot of hobbies to keep me busy. Several years after arriving in Indy, I was fortunate enough to work for a privately owned corporation as their Director of Operations for 10 nursing homes. In 1985 I had the chance to lease 3 nursing homes which I operated for number of years. During the this time I obtained a Real Estate Brokers license and dabble in real estate as a hobby to take off some of the stress of the health care field. I bought properties that were major rehab projects, lived in several for a few years while working on the next project. My favorite was a house built in 1876, where I lived for 10 years. 2 years ago I decide big was not better and moved to a home I owned in the same neighborhood. This house built in the early 1920’s it was one of my 1990 projects that had sat empty for 15 years. Hopefully I am settled for another 10 years.. I tried to retire in 1993, went back to work in 1996, retired again in 1999 and back again in 2001. I guess I am not content without a project. So now I finally figured out how to work from home and am the Executive Director of the Indiana Medical Directors Association - an organization for physicians who practice in long-term care. Also about 18 months ago I started Smart Specialty Apparel, Inc.; a DME Company. The retail site is known as the Ivy Cottage, there we sell specialty health care products. SSA , the nursing home business, is booming as we dispense shoes to nursing home patients under the Medicare Diabetic shoe program. We cover most of Indiana. If we are not the largest supplier in the State, we will be within the next 6 months. Those 30 years in the nursing home business was not in vain after all. I have one more week of classes at the Milwaukee Medical College and then I will be ready to sit for my Boards next spring to become a certified pedorthist. So you see I too have had a difficult time trying to decide what I am supposed to do when I grow up! I am going to try to find some time to get some pictures together now that we are in that age of digital everything. I hopefully will be able to share some of my past 40 years with those who have shared their years with me through the web page. Jennifer Hanna McClurg I have only been back to Indiana once since 1961 and that was in 1983 but I am going out on 4 September this year for a week. I really am looking forward to seeing folks again. My daughter lives in California so I'm going to her in August and then stopping off with Opal. My daughter, Deborah, married an American, David, in Vermont October 1999. I went out for the wedding and had a great time. They lived in New York for a couple of years before moving to Berkeley. David comes from Rhode Island but they met each other in Japan. My son, Stuart, lives and works in London. My eldest, Graeme, died in 1993 of a brain tumour and I still find it very hard to live with. Note: The following photos were taken of Jennifer, Mike Needler and Opal Lord during Jennifer's September 2001 visit. In December, 2001, we learned of the death of Jenny's husband. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to Jenny and her family. |

Julia Hartman Hawgood Contract with husband #1 ended about 10 yrs after it started. Married Harry Kangis 24 yrs ago, and will remain until the end! Have lived in same house in Cincinnati, OH for those 24 years. Received my doctorate in clinical psychology about 20 years ago, and have been in private practice ever since. Scheduled to retire 85% at end of this year. Daughter Megan (34) lives on Bainbridge Island (off Seattle shore) with husband and Christopher (7) and Ana Meredith (4). She stopped working to get kids at least into elementary school, but does perform in all the civic theatre productions on Bainbridge. Son Jonathan (31) got married last year. Now living in Phoenix, and is a news reporter for ABC channel 15. Be sure and tune in if your in the area! Still doing my 4-H projects (knitting, needlepointing, quilting, etc) and growing an industrious flower garden in my spare time. Bari Huggins DuBois In 1970 I married J. B. DuBois (graduated HCHS in 1964). We moved from Indianapolis to New Hampshire in 1984 (restored two 18th century houses there), then to Houston, then back to New Hampshire, and then back to Magnolia - just north of Houston in 1996! We really do like moving, and wouldn't have missed a single serendipitous adventure. Our daughter, Chris Hoverd and family live in Cicero, Indiana. She has two wonderful sons. Daughter, Janis Saikaley and family live in Sarasota, Florida - They have seven beautiful children. Son Jeff lives in New Haven, Indiana. He has three terrific girls. He is also a master clockmaker, which will be his "retirement" business. He enjoys his Porsche 356 Spyder immensely - doing all the engine work himself! I retired in Nov 2006, but am busier than ever. I am involved in animal rescue nationwide, and have been working to better my photography and digital painting skills. Previous info: Our son Mark, 21, just graduated from
Columbia and who's heading off for Spain in a couple of weeks to learn
Spanish, quickly, in hope that the Peace Corps will take him. He majored
in architecture and hopes to spend a couple years in South America or
Latin America doing some sort of city-planning project. After that:
graduate school and a career (probably underpaid) as an architect. Our daughter Courtney, 26, is in her third year of medical school in Portland, Oregon, where she's lived for the past six years. She plans to come back East for her residency after finishing her fourth year, which makes us very happy. She's great company. And she'll be the first doctor in the family since my Dad retired. My first wife, Beverly, is still my
only. She's running public affairs for the National Institute on Drug
Abuse, which studies why people become addicted, and also tries to spread
the word about such things as how treatment works. Lately they've been
beating the drums to warn people about the dangers of the drug, Ecstasy,
and getting a lot of press. Finally, though we lost my Mom last year, my Dad (whom many of you I know remember) is still going strongly at a nice assisted-living facility in Louisville, KY, near my sister Susan, where Dad moved a few years ago after a stroke that left his left side weak. He's mentally undiminished, but doesn't travel any more and gets back and forth between his apartment and the dinning room using a motorized scooter.

Ken Kraning I retired from AT&T after 30 years and am running my own consulting business - part time. Computers and software for small businesses. Jacki and I recently moved to Greenville, South Carolina. We have two sons, Jason and Scott. Scott is 33 and got married in April, 2001. Jason, 31, married April 6, 2002. They own a business together in Greenville.
This handsome guy is Ken and Jacki's new grandson, Rhoades - Isn't he wonderful!

Bob Lanning Married the second time to Vickie Todd from Flint Michigan. Have 5 children (2 from first marriage), 4 girls (2 are twins) and 1 son. and 3 grand children. My wife Vickie and I just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. The twins, Becky and Bari are now 16 and are juniors in high school. Our son Bryan is in the Navy stationed at sub school in Conn. Currently I am principal of South Knox Middle-High School just outside of Vincennes Indiana. We moved to Montpelier from Michigan in 1980 where I taught at Blackford High School for 11 years. From there to Bluffton for 3 years as Assistant Principal and then to Monroe City where we presently reside. Spent 26 years in the Active Navy, Navy Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve. Also worked at Chevrolet for 13 years as a Die Maker and Machinist. |

Jayne Major Bishop We have lived in Pittsburgh since 1971. My husband is a Chaplain at Mercy Hospital, which is one of the large trauma hospitals in the city. He has been there for about 20 years and has also been part-time chaplain, or spiritual consultant, for Nursing Home and Hospice. We have 2 daughters. Katy is 28, and
she lives in Cleveland. She graduated from Hiram College in Ohio with a
double major in Drama and Gender Studies. She has worked both here and in
Cleveland as counselor in Domestic Violence shelters for women. Currently
she works for Pre-Term Women's Health Clinic which is essentialy an
abortion clinic. She counsels women thru the procedure, and she has
special expertise for women who are dealing with abuse. She is quite the
feminist activist. Sarah is 25, and she lives in Pittsburgh -- about 20 minutes away from us. She graduated from Ohio Weslyan University near Columbus, Ohio. Her double major was psychology and sociology with an emphasis on child development. For one year following graduation she worked for Ameri-Corp/Vista in conjunction with the Service Learning Department of her alma mater. She essentially developed a literacy/mentoring program for a rural elementary school using college student volunteers to staff it. This program is still going, and she is quite proud of it. She now works as a pre-school teacher and literacy co-ordinator for a Day Care Center in an impoverished area of Pittsburgh. She is quite the "children's activist." I have been working for the past 15 years for Pittsburgh Vision Services (formerly Pittsburgh Blind Association). This organization is a multi-service human services agency serving persons with vision impairment or blindness. Within the agency I have worked in vocational rehabilitation and training programs for all of this time. For the past several years I have managed an Adult Day Program there for persons with multiple disabilities -- mental retardation and vision impairment in addition to other disabilities. This is a program for older individuals who are no longer interested in sheltered or community employment. We are licensed by the Department of Aging ----- so I guess I am getting a lot of practice in "how to be OLD". |

Judy Martin Hamilton I got remarried in 1993 to
a terrific guy from Middletown, OH. We are both retired and just enjoy
spending time together. We live on a golf course so Larry likes to play
golf. We have five children and eleven grandchildren between us so we spend lots of time visiting with them. Larry teaches Sunday School so that keeps us busy also. |

Janet Montgomery McDonald I am married to Harry McDonald, better known as Ernie. We were married
40 years last September. We had 4 children; however, our daughter, Renea was
killed in an automobile accident 2 1/2 months after graduation. Our
oldest daughter, Ronda, is working in the office at a local factory. Our
son. Ronnie, is a LD teacher is Las Vegas and working on his masters. Our
son, Ryan, just graduated from the Hobart Institute of Welding and now
looking for a job.

Larry Monroe Info received from Larry September 26, 2007: Larry Monroe here. I've lived in Austin, Texas since l977. I work at KUT-FM, the public radio station. Russell Morris and Judy Vannatter I myself moved to
Rochester NY in my senior year, but I still consider HCHS as my class as I
did attend all the way from Kindergarten at the William Reed with many of
you. Judy and I live in Charleston SC now, the past 25 years. We have Antique shops and I am retired from The Navy as well as Government Secret Service. We plan on returning to HC for the next get together. I have all the grade school pictures I might bring them. |

Mike Needler Attended Hanover College,
BA and Bowling Green State University, MBA. I am currently serving on the
Hanover Board of Trustees. Met my late wife, Susan Cheek, at Hanover and
lost Susan to breast cancer in 1997 after 30 years of marriage. During that time we had four great children: Julie - married to Eric Anderson with two children, Lily and Ben (graduated Hillsdale College, BA Finance); Allyson - soon to be married to Todd Perry on November 10 (graduated Vanderbilt, BA and Ohio State University MBA); Lindsay - married to Hanover grad Shawn Turner (graduated Hanover, BA); and Michael Jr., presently a Sophomore at Hanover. I have spent nearly all my working career in the supermarket business from 1966 to present. I currently own a supermarket chain - 27 stores in Ohio and 2 in Indiana. Being in this business has afforded me the opportunity to travel extensively and meet many new friends. My father passed away 14 years ago, and my mother, now 83,still lives in Hartford City and is doing great. I return to Hartford City periodically to visit my family my mother, Art and Monte. I continue to enjoy visiting with classmates when I can - Most recently with Hank Evans, Brooks Jackson, Julia Hartman, and Kay Brose. NOTE: On Saturday, July 28, 2001,

Tonya Osborne Morin I can't believe I left Hartford City at the age of 17, went to Minnesota to a short-term school and from there went to Washington, DC to work for the government. My first job was with the Navy Bureau of Weapons on Constitution Avenue. (buildings don't exist anymore). I used to eat my lunch along the reflection pool that you see from the Lincoln Memorial. I also took walks around the fencing of the White House grounds and see the Kennedy's, go to the Pentagon for lunch and see President Johnson (what a big guy). Miss Miller would be very proud as she knew how much I hated her typing and shorthand classes but I grew to love taking shorthand while working for the government. I worked at Headquarters Marine Corps and was there when John Glenn went up in Friendship 7. He was a Marine and he came to see the Commandant after the parade upon his successful return and I shook his hand. Before I left DC in 1967, I was working for the Defense Intelligence Agency, very interesting job and most of the work at that time was with Vietnam. While working at Headquarters Marine Corps, I met a Marine from Rochester, NY, got married, and had two children. Knowing that this contract wasn't forever, I was able to get free after 13 yrs. and met another Rochesterian, a wonderful and caring person and this contract has lasted almost 29 years. Bill just retired from his Commodities Manager job (29 yrs.) at the Eastman Kodak Company. As many of you know, the second time around is the best. We met while working at The National Technical Institute for the Deaf. (we were both trained in sign language). Our daughter Martina (an artist and interior decorator) went to California after college and is now in Charlotte, NC, married with our only grandchildren, Jennifer - 12, Brandon - 9, and Amanda - 6; our son Tony, went to California after high school, traveled halfway around the world, then went to college, married a California girl and is now relocating to Charlotte, NC, and Will, our youngest is on his second career in college (sports medicine) at Elon University in Burlington, NC. My biggest career was being home with my children, but on the sidelines I have done many things. I attended Rochester Institute of Technology and Monroe Community College where I took many classes in business, computers, financial accounting, marketing and interior design. Someday my goal is to matriculate all my classes and get that piece of paper. Until then, I will continue my love for quilting, doll making, sewing for my home, designing gardens and enjoy our retirement and our move to the sunny south - Greenville, SC. During the past few years, I was garden docent for the George Eastman House. I also was a tour director for a local company accompanying people on single and multi-day trips, flying with them to other US locations and also to England, Scotland and Wales. It was a wonderful experience, met many wonderful people. Perhaps, I will do something similar in SC. (My parents are both deceased, my older sister, Karen lives in Muncie, my younger sister, Pam lives in Auburn and brother Mike is in Adrian, MI.)

Linda Oswalt Banter 1942 - 2007 September, 2007 - It is with great sadness that we share that Linda passed away. We send our heartfelt sympathies to her family. About Linda:
She married Hal Banter in
1964. Hal passed away in 1994 to cancer. Linda has two daughters. Ann
Elizabeth is married and has two sons. Ann works in the Medical Record
Dept at Blackford County Hospital. Amy is also married and has two sons.
She is a secretary at Hartford Glass. Linda was active in her church, a member of Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, a patron in Blackford County Hospital auxiliary. She did volunteer work for 12 years at the hospital. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

to the commercial heating , ventilating and air conditioning business.

Developed a small company called Motor
Control Specialties in Knoxville, TN ( our son still runs this small
venture part time). Developed and sold ( 1994) a small successful Papa
Johns Pizza Franchise in upper East TN. Took a year off and traveled by
car and camper to the Yukon and Alaska, California, Colorado, of course
Florida, etc.
In the fall of 1995 started a
Manufacturers Rep agency in East Tennessee, built a nice business and
sold it in 1998. We moved to Venice FL to retire at least for a while,
I spent a couple of years Salt Water Fishing and we even worked in some
travel over the next two years. Felt I was missing out on business
and medical insurance was getting very expensive, so I went to work for
one of the largest Representative Agency in the US. I ran two offices
for a while, ( Ft. Myers and Tampa), became VP.
By late 2005 I had had all the fun I
could stand and decided to slow down. We moved to Chattanooga, TN. A
friend owns a nice growing company manufacturing products I used to
sell. I work with them in sales and marketing, training, new product
development, and represent the company at industry related functions.
Now I only work up to 40 hours a week compared to 60 or more in the
past.
During all this time, my wife Paula has
been a huge part of our success, she is Treasurer of another small
corporation we own, she was my office administrator in Ft. Myers, and
she put together all the accounting for the Pizza Franchise and the Rep
Agency we developed and sold. I guess I am pretty good at selling, but
she knows how to manage and control the money, it's a good thing,
otherwise I would spend all of it on fishing and traveling.
I still like to fish and bought another
boat, this time a fresh water bass boat. Paula takes care of her 86 year
old mother at our home in Chattanooga. Our children and grandchildren
are close and we enjoy them immensely.
We intend to re-retire in about 2
years, we intend to travel back to Alaska and the Yukon.

Fred Parker I married Connie Ferguson (HCHS class of 1962) on
February 2,1962. We live in rural Blackford County. We have two children,
Dean Allen and Pamela Sue. We also have six grandchildren - De'Anna born
1985 in Guam and Tyler born in 1989 belonging to Dean (and X-wife
Angela), and Ian born 1989, Ethan born 2001, Erin & Evan born
2003 belonging to Pamela and Ritch McGreevy of Milford, Indiana. I am a
retired farmer working at Indiana Box in Montpelier and Connie has driven
school bus for Blackford County Schools since 1978. We celebrated our 40th
wedding anniversary with a cruise of the Hawaiian Islands. |

Marquita Pontius Chadwick I am widowed and have been for 17 years. Chad (Harold) was only 41 yrs when he died unexpectedly of a 3rd heart attack in June 1984. At the time our son, Jim, was 16+, Sandi was 15+ and Cathy was nearly 11 yrs. We are quite close even though Sandi and her son, Colin, live in Nashville, TN, and Jim and his wife, Eileen, and daughter, Mary Beth, live in Baltimore. Only Cathy lives here in Louisville with her daughter, Cheyenne, as she (Cathy) is in Medical School @ Univ.. of Louisville Med. School. My professional background began when I obtained my RN in '63 from Deaconess Hospital, Cincinnati. I worked operating room at various hospitals, depending upon where we lived, for 4 years, until we began having a family. Then I was privileged to be a stay-at-home "Mom" for the next 23 years. In 1990, I went to work as an RN Case Manager for the private managed care company here in Louisville that I continue to work for. My specialty is in Transplants and Cancer patients. The work is quite challenging, very rewarding, and is perfect for me, as physically I can no longer handle the hospital setting. Also, along the way, I went back to college, Univ. of Louisville, and earned my BS in business management, which works nicely with what I am doing now. I don't plan on retiring any time soon, if ever, as my work is, in part, the reason I am still able to get around and live independently. Rheumatoid arthritis, my companion of 26+ years, has distorted parts of my body and has forced me to adapt in many ways. Thanks to the many marvels of modern medicine, I am still able to get where I need to be, though it may take me a little longer at times. I was always short, 5'1" max, but now I am even shorter by at least 2". Oh well, such are the ways of life.

Dick Powell Dick and Carmel Powell have a lovely home in Bradenton, Florida. Dick retired from Delco Remy in Anderson, Indiana with 30 years seniority Dec 21, 1992. Carmel retired from Delco's Credit Union with 23 years seniority. They were drawn to the Bradenton, Florida area and chose it for retirement after yearly visits with friends in the area. Dick has two daughters, Cheryl Keesling and Julie Rainey. Cheryl has two children - Sam, age 13, and Kalee, soon to be 5. Cheryl also has two step daughters. Julie has one daughter, Kenzie, age 13. While living in Indiana, the Powells purchased a home on the "Tippy" chain of lakes and never missed a weekend. Since they had a property on the lakes up North, they decided to do the same in Florida. So, they purchased a 25-foot Bayliner Boat and then went to Coast Guard Boating School, where they met several people with whom they remain friends today. Dick's father, Ralph, retired from Delco Remy and his mother Betty from 3-M in H.C. After Dick's father passed away, Betty purchased a home in Ft. Wayne to be close to her daughter, but after a number of visits to Bradenton, she decided to become a year-round resident too! Dick works part-time at a local auto auction. He picks up cars all over the state of Florida and brings them to auctions that are held each Friday. Carmel worked several part-time jobs after moving to Florida, but has now decided to be a stay at home housewife!

Jim Smith Barbara and I have lived
here in Holland, MI since 1970 and raised 3 boys and 2 girls. Third
generation consists of 2 boys. I spend lots of time traveling all over
both North America as well as Europe so is nice to have the list of names
in order to see if anyone happens to be in the area. I do make it back to
HC now and then as still have family living on the farm. |

Ron Sutton I started with 3M in HC right out of high school. I spent two years at Fort Carson outside of Colorado Springs (Army 66-68). In 1974 I became a Process Engineer with 3M. In 1982 we moved to New Ulm Minnesota with 3M. I worked on a lot of neat projects for them. I retired from 3M in 1998 after 38 years. New Ulm is a small town southwest of
Minneapolis / St Paul about 100 miles. It has a very strong German
influence. It has a sister city in Germany which we have visited. We
should have moved south two years ago and each winter we wonder why we
haven't moved yet. We have no ties other than our house and friends, and
we are not sure where we want to live full time. I married Susan Stoner from Petroleum In.( South of Bluffton) in 1963, and we have been happily married for 38 years. Many of you probably remember her. We lived in HC for 18 years. We have One son, Douglas. He lives in San Rafael, California just north of San Francisco. He works for Industrial Light and Magic doing computer animation for movies. He has his name in the credits on several Movies. He is 31 years old single and we are still waiting for grand kids. Does anyone have any single daughters? He has a nice house and it makes us a nice place to visit when it's cold in Minnesota. However, the drive to California is starting to get longer. My dad still lives On west Kickapoo
Street in the same house I grew up in. He Just had his 81st birthday.
Doing well. My Brother, Virgil lives northwest of HC. They try to keep me
